The goal of this introductory course is to provide you with a solid foundation in the drug development process in order to achieve greater success in your career in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Students will
  • Know the names of the different phases of drug development and their objectives,
  • Understand what it takes to get a drug approved for market, and
  • Learn vocabulary associated with drug development.

Dr. Gloria Vigliani is an expert in international clinical drug development and clinical-regulatory strategy. During her more than 25-year industry career, Dr. Vigliani successfully registered 14 new products in a broad range of therapeutic areas worldwide. Prior to industry, Dr. Vigliani served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School for 10 years.

In 2007, Dr. Vigliani formed Vigliani Consulting where she works with bio-tech customers on clinical drug development and regulatory strategy. She ultimately combined her decades of senior management experience and her affinity for teaching to develop a comprehensive drug development curriculum.

Dr. Vigliani has helped hundreds of physicians, scientists, and executives successfully transition from academic careers to the biopharmaceutical industry through her courses. In 2019 Dr. Gloria Vigliani opened the Mastering Clinical Drug Development Program on the Teachable platform.
